History
In the summer of 2009 five enthusiastic amateur musicians from all over The Netherlands, being members of different brass and wind bands started a new foundation, the National Foundation for Music Projects, short NMP.
We’ve started this foundation because we believe that it’s essential for more advanced amateur musicians to have tempting projects in addition to their “home” orchestras. This keeps them motivated to stay a member of their own orchestra and to keep on being an example to their fellow players.
What exactly is a Dutch “fanfare”?
Wikipedia says: A fanfare is also a typical Dutch and Belgian orchestra, with trumpets, trombones, flugelhorns, French horns/saxhorns, tubas, saxophones and percussion. The Dutch amateur fanfare orchestras are famous for their high standard of quality.
Our fanfare is in total 60 musicians. Our orchestra does a wide variety of pieces. Classical, but also modern popsongs out of the repertoire of Michael Buble.
What kind of music is the orchestra performing?
We do a wide variety of pieces. We can do a evening program. Before the break we bring pieces with the typical sound of the Dutch fanfare, mostly from Dutch composers. After the break we do a modern and swinging program, of course with songs and solo’s. A complete evening of entertaining music.
We can also do shorter concerts. For every concert we can make a specific choice from our repertoire. Doing so we can adapt to the possibilities of the location and the public we can aspect. More classical, or more modern. Together with our hosts we can make a choice that fits the best.
Who is our director?
Our current director is Mr. Albert-John Vervorst . He is a well known fanfare conductor and has great experience working with fanfare orchestras.
